Horror Movies and True Stories

When you see the words ‘Based on a true story’ in horror flicks, does it send chills down the spine? What will be your reaction when you come to know there are some real incidents that happened in the sets of horror films too? Also, some non-horror movie sets were believed to be cursed as well. Here is a list of these movies –

1. Batman (2008)

A surprise entry in the list, isn’t it? Though not a horror flick, this movie was set to be cursed and faced a lot of problems. The Batman series itself had many incidents. Heath Ledger, who played the Joker in The Dark Knight had suffered depression during the filming. He used to sleep only two hours a night.

He had a diary which he used to prepare for the role, and the final page had the words ‘Bye-Bye’ after which he said to have committed suicide. Another incident on the stunt involves a technician who died while filming a stunt sequence. The ‘Batman Curse’ continued to Morgan Freeman as well who met with a serious car accident and had been divorced too during this period.

2. The Conjuring (2013)

This movie is told to be based on a true story. There are several incidents that happened during the making of this movie. When the crew and the family around which the movie was made were on the set, strange strong winds swirled around them. The trees nearby were not moving but there were winds blowing around in the set. Carolyn, an actor felt a strong presence of evil in her room and also fainted there. The hotel in which the crew was staying also caught fire and all had to evacuate from there.

The film director James Wan, while working on this script at his office late at night suddenly recalls his dog shouting over, but he was not able to find anything that could disturb the dog over there. Also, Vera Farmiga, who played paranormal investigator in the film refused to take the script of the movie home as it made her feel uneasy. She also felt paralyzed when she tried to read the script at night.

3. The Matrix (1999)

Though not a ghost movie, after the movie release several incidents happened to the cast and crew of the movie. The film’s star Keanu Reeve's girlfriend gave birth to a stillborn baby after the movie. Not just that, this led to their break-up and also, she died soon after in a plane crash.

Reeves himself met with a motorbike accident and was hospitalized for several days. His sister also suffered from leukemia. Another actor in the movie, Gloria Foster too died within a year. All these were termed as ‘The Matrix curse’ at that time.

4. Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

One of the best horror films ever made, this movie directed by Roman Polanski is about a confused mother who is expecting her first child. More disturbing than the movie is the chain of events that happened after its release. The music composer of the film died of brain clot exactly the same way how one of the characters in the movie died. More horrific than this is that Roman’s wife Sharon Tate was murdered along with four others in their home in Los Angeles.

The mass murder was one of the iconic scenes in the film. In the murder scene, the killer had written the word ‘PIG’ on the front door. The producer of the movie believed that the movie was cursed after the scene in which the dialogue ‘Rosemary, for God’s sake drop that knife’ scene was shot and he himself became deadly ill of uremic poisoning after the film was made.

5. The Exorcist (1973)

One of the classics in the horror genre, Exorcist is about a young girl who is possessed by an evil ghost and the priest who tries to exorcise her out from it forms the crux of the story. This film had several nerve-chilling incidents that happened during the making as well. The film’s entire set was damaged due to unexpected fire on the sets. Luckily none of the crew members were on the set during the mishap, but till now the origin of the fire is unknown.

Film’s lead actor Jack McGowan died just a few weeks before the release of the film. Linda Blair, one of the actors in the movie got injured badly during the filming of one of her scenes. The director William Fiendkin did bring in priests to the sets but was futile. The ‘Exorcist’s curse’ remained throughout.

Are you freaked out yet? Well, the next time you wish to watch a horror movie, do a little research about its background story. Also, if you are booking tickets online, just hop on to the BookMyShow app and use BookMyShow coupons to get special offers.

How does 3-Day Potty Training Method Work?

Babies are awesome! Living with them is one tough roller-coaster ride that teaches the parents the real meaning of life. From the smiles they give you while dreaming in their sleep to everything else – the feeling cannot be alliterated. However, the rambles don’t end here. The long sleepless nights and endless crying sessions simply drain your energy. The constant whining and, the KRAKEN – potty and pee episodes that happen without warning – really daunting! Till the kids reach a certain age, you have to deal with such things many times a day. However, you can take a sigh of relief when the kids start talking & walking and can understand gestures.

These developments mark the time when you should potty train your kids. Though every household has a different tactic to deal with this; 3-day potty training method is the best. Before we start talking about this method, let us understand a few things. The age by which you should get your babies potty-trained varies. Some kids start giving the signals from a very early age such as 9 months or even younger. And, no matter what you do, some kids will just not tell you that they need to go to the bathroom even if they are 2 years old.
So, please try to cope up with your kid. Every kid is special and needs to be handled differently.

Let us get started with the 3-day potty training method

3-day potty training method – What and How:

This is a very simple method that has been gaining a lot of popularity since its inception. The method relies on a parent being constantly with the baby at all times. So, you just have to skip every other thing that might take the attention away from the baby. This is to make sure that whenever your baby gets the urge, you can instantly take care of it. Don’t let the baby sit or stand anywhere else. The moment you feel alarmed, bring him or her to the potty seat.

Hence, a relaxed 3-day time period and a good quality potty seat are the two things you need. You can buy all kinds of potty seats or pots online. However, take care of the size of the seat and the ease of sitting into consideration. Grab some Firstcry offers today and make the shopping easier on your pocket.

Now, it might seem that the method is very easy. But, the thing is, your kid will certainly get alarmed when you instantly pick him or her up. You have to be patient, like a lot! The kid might instantly lose the urge and can even get cranky. But, you have to be patient and diligent.

3-day potty training method – Steps:

Take a bunch of small-sized t-shirts, small as in one size shorter. Now, your kids will be spending their time without diapers. So, they have to be dressed in clothes that don’t get dirtied with any accidents.

Now, you can also stock up on some liquids that are loved by your kids. Any simple glucose solution is also good. You can even opt for plain water. Make your kid drink plenty of liquids and take them to the bathroom repeatedly. You have to recognize the signs and ask them repeatedly if they want to go. You have to keep telling them that they have to relieve themselves in the bathroom.
The accidents are bound to happen. But, slowly, they will realize things. Kids are very fast learners and can acquire knowledge and learn thing very easily. You just have to be patient and supportive of them. Now, whenever your kid makes the ‘potty-face’ (yes, that’s a thing) you have to bring the potty pot. Make the kid sit on it and relieve himself or herself. Keep reminding them time and again. Keep telling them to go and pee in the bathroom after every fixed time interval.

Tips to make the 3-day potty training method ACTUALLY WORK:

  1. Keep your baby without diapers at night as well as during the day.
  2. Tell them that there is no diaper to catch the pee and potty. So, they have to absolutely go to the bathroom or use the potty pot.
  3. Keep the potty pot clean and be patient and supportive of your kid.
  4. Make sure that you never put the diaper ON your kid for 3 days in a go.
  5. Make sure the potty seat is comfortable and easy. Make the shopping better with the FirstCry offers to grab one such.

So, mommies! Take the Fridays OFF and enjoy the long weekend training your kid!

All about Bloating and the Ways to Cope With It

Metabolism and digestion are the two crucial natural processes in the body that define the health and well-being of an individual. Whether one is healthy or not can be easily deciphered by simply considering one's digestive health.

What causes bloating?

The food you eat needs to undergo proper digestion after it enters the stomach. The nutrition from the digested food then gets evenly distributed to all parts of the body via blood.

On the other hand, if the food you eat does not undergo digestion in the desired manner, it leads to bloating. Most doctors opine that it is caused by improper or unhealthy eating habits.

Though bad digestive health indicates underlying problems relating to the health of an individual, it is not the case all the time. Sometimes, it can be temporary and may result from the bacterial fermentation of some types of foods that you eat.

Indicators of bloating

The symptoms of bloating are no rocket science. A bloated tummy, flatulence, and gas are some of the common signs of bloating. Though these look like embarrassing digestive issues on the surface, these are simple digestive problems that can be cured by taking medications.

Alongside taking medicines, it is also necessary to follow the right practices to aid faster recovery and keep various digestive issues from happening.

Behaviours that increase the risk of the bloating problem

Aside from unhealthy food habits, there are also some wrong behaviour patterns that can intensify the problem of bloating in individuals. These include the following:
  • Talking at the time of eating interferes with the process of chewing food and can contribute to the difficulty in digestion at the subsequent stages.
  • Sometimes, stress can lead to a spike in your hunger level due to which you may feel hungry even when you aren’t actually hungry.
  • Smoking, chewing tobacco, consuming alcohol and other forms of addiction also affect the process of digestion adversely in some way or the other.
  • Excessive consumption of some hot or cold beverages can also be the root cause for indigestion and bloating.
  • Wearing tight fitting clothes is a problem connected with one's lifestyle which can also harm the digestive health of an individual.
  • Indigestion can also be the side-effect of using certain medications for a long time.
Have you got into one of these habits? If you wish to keep the issue of indigestion at bay, you need to give up these habits.

Ways to keep the problem of bloating at bay

  1. Eat lighter meals: In comparison to taking a heavy meal at once, it is much better to have lighter meals at regular intervals.
  2. Chew your food slowly: Chewing your food slowly before swallowing the pieces is an excellent way to break down food particles into smaller pieces. This eases the workload of your body in breaking up the food particles.
  3. Drink sufficient water: Apart from flushing out the toxins, water is also a catalyst for digestion. So, it is to the benefit of your digestive health to drink adequate water. Drink water 1-2 hours before and after your meals. By doing so, you will be able to prevent water from interfering with the process of digestion.
  4. Cut down the consumption of salty food: Salty foods are notorious for interfering with the processes of digestion. If you wish to enhance your digestive health, it is imperative that you take as minimum salty foods as possible.
  5. Include probiotics in your diet: Research indicates probiotics are extremely helpful for digestion in the body. So, make a point of adding more of it to your regular diet.
  6. Exercise regularly: Spending a few minutes in the gym or doing light cardio exercises early in the morning will help you in staying fit. It will also keep your body weight in check and help in digestion.

Medications

If you are suffering from bloating even after trying out the remedies suggested above, you can opt for medicines that are available at renowned general stores or online pharmacies such as Pharmeasy & don’t forget to use Pharmeasy coupons for instant discounts on you total order.

Final thoughts

Dealing with bloating will not be a big deal for you if you put the tips above into practice. When buying your medications for bloating, especially from an online store, do not forget to check the online reviews. Renowned stores such as Healthkart are more credible than the less obvious ones just because you can read the reviews posted by its users.

Fashion Tips to Beat the Heat This Summer

The Indian summer can be very unforgiving. With the mercury often exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, it is not uncommon for us to think of moving away to a Scandinavian country. Add to that the high humidity in many regions of the country; summers can quickly evolve into a season of torture.

Wearing the wrong clothing during summer can lead to dehydration, rashes or even a sun-stroke. It is essential to make sure that the body stays cool during the summer days.

Keeping cool during the summer is not very hard. Here are a few tips that can help you beat the summer heat.

1. Loose Clothes

Although skinny fit jeans might be in vogue now, they aren't ideal apparel for summer. Tight fitting garments often block the air circulation to the skin. This prevents the skin cells from breathing and also causes a lot of sweating. During hot days, the blood vessels in the body tend to dilate to dissipate the excess heat. Tight clothes can obstruct this natural body phenomenon and cause complications like sun-stroke.

Wearing loose clothes help in air circulation which in turn keeps the body cool. Unnecessary sweating caused by tighter fitting clothes can also be managed this way. Loose fitting cotton apparel instead of tight-fitting jeans and t-shirts should be the staple during summer.

Many e-commerce platforms are already introducing their summer line-up of clothes and are offering great discounts. For a great summer look, shop and save on your summer wardrobe by using LimeRoad offers today.

2. Go Sleeveless

A very easy trick to save yourself from the sun’s rage this summer is to opt for sleeveless or short sleeved apparel. Women can opt for short sleeved or sleeveless tunics and top while men can try wearing half-sleeved shirts or t-shirts. However, you should always use sunscreen to protect yourself from sunburn while wearing sleeveless clothes or use an umbrella. Direct sun rays have Ultraviolet rays which can be harmful to the body and cause skin cancer in the long run.

3. Pick the Right Fabric and Right Color

Cotton is the go-to fabric for the Indian summer. Cotton has good absorbing capabilities, and it absorbs the sweat from your skin allowing it to evaporate into the air. Cotton fabrics act as a wick, absorbing the excess sweat from your skin. This keeps the skin dry and stops the growth of body odor causing bacteria and also helps in keeping cool.

Linen and Khadi are two other fabrics which can be opted for during summer. Linen is known for its lightweight and high breathability and absorbs the excess moisture perfectly. Khadi is a handmade fabric that was once very popular and is making a comeback again. Khadi clothes are famed for their loose fit to help you stay cool during the summer. Khadi is also excellent at cooling the body.

Synthetic fabrics should be avoided as far as possible during summer. Unlike cotton and linen, synthetic fabrics can't absorb sweat from the skin and letting it dry. Wearing synthetic fabrics for longer during the summer can make your skin sticky from sweat accumulation.

Summer clothes should always be light in color. Colors like beige, white, and other light shades reflect most of the sun rays and thus keep you cool. Darker clothes, on the other hand, absorb these sun rays and make you feel even hotter on a hot summer day. Whites are also an aesthetically pleasing color which keeps you relaxed when you are out in the sun.

4. Accessorize

You can always up your style quotient by adding a few accessories to the mix and spicing up your look. Two essential accessories for the summer are hats and sunglasses. Adding a hat to your look can help you in both ways- keeping cool and looking trendy. Similarly, a pair of stylish sunglasses can complete that summer look. Online shopping sites like Lenskart deal especially with eyewear and have an enormous range of products to choose from. If you are in the market looking for your first pair of sunglasses, Lenskart coupon code can help you get a good deal on your new pair of shades.

5. Avoid Thick and Sturdy Materials

Although that favorite leather jacket of yours might go well with most of your t-shirts, it isn't advisable to wear them. Clothes made of thick materials are not good at keeping you cool and hence should be avoided.

6. Try Something New

Fashion enthusiasts always regard summer as the season for trying new and bold fashion statements. Summers are the perfect time to try the long floral skirt or the baggy cargo shorts you have been planning to buy for so long. If the clothes help you stay cool, you can give it a try.

Indian summers can be very harsh. The scorching sun and the hot winds can make any day living hell. But if we wear the right apparel and remember to stay hydrated, summers can be a breeze to deal with.

What is VPS Hosting and How Its Different from Dedicated Hosting

This is the age of the internet, and every single entity has an online presence. If you are also a member of the online fraternity and are re-evaluating your website needs, then read the following post. It has differences between VPS hosting and dedicated hosting. It also highlights the reasons for the popularity of VPS hosting. The dedicated hosting is a bit expensive and might not be affordable for all. This is why many start-ups and SMBs are opting for the VPS hosting. Let's find out what makes the VPS hosting so popular.

VPS Hosting - What is it?

The VPS hosting has the features of both, the shared hosting and the dedicated hosting. This is one of the best hosting types for SMBs and start-ups that have outgrown their initial user base. In VPS hosting, many users are using the same server. Every website is offered its own space using the virtualization. Hence, every site is using its own resources and operating systems. No website has the entire server at a time. So, just like shared hosting, the server is shared.

Get the best deals on the VPS hosting with the Big Rock Coupons and make your migration easier.

As all the users can use the server resources at any time, it resembles the dedicated hosting as well. Hence, it is the best hosting technology. The users can customize, scale and use their resources in their own space.

Now, let us find what makes VPS hosting different from Shared and Dedicated one.

In the dedicated hosting, one user rent an entire server. There is no virtualization of space and resources. The websites with extremely high traffic need dedicated hosting. The shared hosting is one in which a server is shared between 2 or more websites. It is the best hosting for the people that have just started their website. The shared hosting might not work for the sites that have good user traffic.

Advantages of Using VPS Hosting:

1. Privacy:

Every user has his or her different and dedicated space on the Server. Though many websites are using the resources, they don't fall prey to privacy violations. No other site can have access to your files on the same server.

2. Price:

VPS hosting is perfectly affordable for businesses that are growing. The price is more than shared hosting but lesser than the dedicated hosting. As the multiple websites are using a single server, the price stays in the affordable range. The cost of resources and hardware is split in between the users. Hence, the overall price remains affordable.

3. Scalability is more in the VPS Hosting:

The VPS hosting is scalable which means that the needs of the growing website can be perfectly accommodated. No changes are required in the necessary hardware of the websites. Thus, you can keep growing and keep getting the resources endlessly in a VPS hosting. Therefore, the VPS hosting is an effective way to deal with the rising needs and cost-cutting.

4. Customization, Configuration, and Security:

All the major decisions regarding the configuration and customization can be taken by the user only. The security in VPS hosting is inherent and is managed by the vendors. You can rest assured that any other user will not use your information and resources. You can perfectly manage your website on your own.

All these reasons make the VPS Hosting better and more efficient than the dedicated hosting. However, speed is one significant criterion that cannot be ignored. The dedicated hosting is inherently faster than the VPS hosting.

Are you planning a server migration? Use the Bigrock coupon code and offers and enjoy big savings.
